Practical Life
The Practical Life section lays the foundation for all activities. The activities are everyday tasks that a child needs to learn to master the care of self-care and care for the environment. Such activities include pouring, matching, and tying; These activities promote concentration, coordination and, independence.
Sensorial
The Montessori Sensorial Section aims to educate the child’s senses. This section contains Montessori-specific materials that help the child refine their experience of sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. Sensory experience, with these specially selected materials, provides children with the first step in understanding abstract concepts.
Language Development
Montessori language curriculum is an integrated approach that combines phonetics and whole language. The child is introduced to activities that promote letters and sound recognision.
Culture
Montessori cultural materials provide individual activities, which help the child acquire knowledge in the areas of biology,(planting bulbs, about animals, etc), the geography of our world, (the earth, our universe, volcanoes, children in other countries, etc) history, (day/week/month, etc) and science (floating /sinking, melting, etc.)
In addition, we provide preschool play activities along with Irish, Music, Arts, Crafts, Baking and P.E.
Mathematics
Montessori Math Activities present the concepts of numbers, size, etc, in a concrete way so that children are not only able to count but recognize and understand numbers and size.
Early Year Activites
The early years learning environment and curriculum promote independence and problem-solving and prepare children for school.
